[Today finds Irvine more resigned to his fate than he has been since his dramatic and controversial arrival. He's meandering about town, getting to know the place. He checks out a book from the library that he's never read and probably never will read anyway. He even heads to Good Spirits to see if they have an age limit on drinking.
